Poster Presentation Instructions

This year’s poster presentation will be in the format of 4 PowerPoint slides with audio (and video if you wish). An extra intro slide is also allowed. The file should be in video format (*.mp4, *.mov, *.avi).
PowerPoint (Windows) has this function built into it and instructions can be found online but feel free to use any video editing software you are comfortable with. (A recorded zoom call to yourself will work also).
Videos can be used in slides if required.
Please note videos over 3 mins may be disqualified.

Naming the file
The file name should start with your poster number, then underscore, then your reference Number, then Underscore, then your Surname. (details can be on the SOH2021 website (
Example:- 80_SOH21AS2544_Walsh.mp4

This year the poster will be previewed by the judges 3 days before the meeting and you may be asked questions through the text function on the meeting platform ( ) on the day of the meeting.
For this reason the posters must be submitted before the 23rd February 12 midnight

All presenters will be required to register for the event and answer any questions posed to them by the judges.

Attendance is only required on the day the judges will be asking questions but we would encourage you to attend the full event.
Friday – P1-General Posters
Saturday – P2-Orthopaedic, P3-Anaesthesia, P4-Head and Neck
We expect the judges questions be be asked (Through the text function on the Hopin platform linked to your video) by 10am.  You should respond by 11:59.  Final judging will take place after 12

Please put in the message section which poster session (ie General, ENT,Anaesthesia, Orthopaedic) the poster relates to.
